THE CLASS OF 2018 SANTA FE HIGH SCHOOL
Graduating class: 295 Valedictorian: Bradley Moffett, who will study biochemistry at the University of Arizona From Moffett’s valedictory address: “Throughout the course of our high school careers, we have improved our school rating by two letter grades and our AP exam scores have skyrocketed. … We starred in performances, participated in student-led protests, and we proved to our teachers, coaches and mentors that we are capable and ready to make an impact on the future leaders of the world.” Salutatorian: Ramona Park, who will attend Harvard From Park’s salutatorian address: “Someone who you thought was an attractive freshman will seem ugly in three years. Trust me, just give it some time. Building off of that, I also learned that you don’t need a date to prom or a relationship to carry you though high school — you just need a crazy journalism teacher and a few best friends. … And don’t worry about people who talk behind your back. They’re behind for a reason.” From Principal Carl Marano: The seniors have endured a lot during their high school career and have overcome many obstacles. They have persevered and have not let anything get in their way of obtaining their high school diplomas. This graduating class alone produced 25 Super Scholars, which was by far the most of any high school in the city. We had 44 seniors obtain the prestigious Honor Blues recognition. We had over 75 seniors receive scholarships to assist them with college tuition. I am filled with great pride and honor to recognize the graduating Class of 2018. Thank you, seniors, for all you did to inspire me, and I wish you all the best. Our future is in great hands.”
