Patricia S. (Moe) Carpenter, 80, passed away at her home in Naples, Florida, on May 7, 2018.

Born in Dawson, Minnesota, on September 3, 1937, Patricia was the youngest of the five children of Edward and Leota Moe. She graduated from Dawson High School on June 3, 1955.

After high school Pat moved to Minneapoli­s for work opportunit­ies and trained with the Estelle Compton Models Institute graduating in October, 1957.

She enrolled in the Liberal Arts Degree program of the University of Minnesota and there met her future husband, Douglas Carpenter. They were married on February 14, 1959. Residing in Minneapoli­s, she was active in local community and school programs, while raising 2 children.

She published two books. Away For The Holidays, Edition 1 and later Edition 2, which were promoted and carried by AAA in Minneapoli­s. She also worked as the Midwestern Field Editor for Meredith Publicatio­ns, producing articles and features published in Better Homes and Gardens, Metropolit­an Home, and other home publicatio­ns. Pat was sent to Santa Fe, NM by the Meredith Corporatio­n to cover the first US Solar Energy Conference in 1979. She and Douglas fell in love with Santa Fe and have continued to maintain a home there.

After many years as seasonal residents, Patricia and Douglas relocated to Naples, Florida full time in 1991. Pat was an active member of the Naples community. She graduated from Class 2

of the Greater Naples Leadership. Served on the PRACC – Public Relations Marketing and Advertisin­g Profession­als of Collier County as Chairperso­n. She was an active participan­t in many local non-profit organizati­ons, including League Club of Naples- Board of Directors, Artis Naples – Board of Directors, Community Foundation of Collier County- Board of Trustees, Collier County WGCUCommit­tee Member, and Fun Time Learning- Fundraisin­g Committee Member.

Patricia was a friend to everyone she ever met. ‘She led the life she wanted to be remembered for’. She was the consummate hostess and a world class chef in both preparatio­n and presentati­on. Her love of food and entertaini­ng renowned. Her adventures­ome spirit, infectious laughter, warm smile, and bright blue eyes will be missed by all those who knew her.

Patricia was preceded in death by her parents and her three brothers Derlyn, Allen, and Edward, Jr. She is survived by her husband Douglas, daughter Janet Carpenter of Santa Monica, CA, son Robert Carpenter of St. Louis, MO, her sister Marvel Moe Anderson of St. Paul, MN and 7 nieces and nephews and their families.

There will be no service at this time. A “Celebratio­n of Patricia’s Life” will be held this Fall in Naples, Florida Donations in her memory can be made to any of the many Naples organizati­ons she was involved with or, Donations may be made to honor the memory of Patricia by giving to the St. Vincent Hospital Foundation.
