Area workforce training needs subject of survey

-

Santa Fe Community College’s Continuing Education and Contract Training program and Innovate+Educate’s Santa Fe Advance Initiative have launched a survey to determine local needs for workforce training.

The goal is to gather information from the community to develop and deliver tailored workforce training and professional development, according to a news release from the college. About 20 organizations are supporting the initiative. The survey will run through June 24 at www.sfcc.edu/workforcetraining-survey. All employers who participate in the survey will be entered into a drawing to win a $350 gift certificate (sponsored by Innovate+Educate) to take their employees to lunch.

“Santa Fe Community College has a strong commitment to serving the community through workforce training,” said SFCC interim President Cecilia Cervantes. The survey results will help the college better serve the community’s workforce training needs, she said in the release.

The college’s Continuing Education and Contract Training program offers a full range of noncredit courses, workshops and training to the community. “We’re eager to expand our offerings, and the survey results will help us determine employers’ needs,” said Kris Swedin, SFCC director of continuing education and contract training.

Innovate+Educate is a nonprofit focused on training, hiring and advancement strategies to ensure low-income workers are provided access to learning and employment.
