TV TOP PICKS
7 p.m. on WE Mama June: From Not to Hot
June Mama Shannon, June in TLC’s previously wildly known polarizing as reality series Here Comes Honey Boo Boo, continues what has to be one of the most startling transformations in unscripted TV history, including a weight loss of more than 300 pounds, as this spinoff series returns with new episodes. As the action resumes, June and daughter Alana (formerly Honey Boo Boo), shunned by the traditional pageant circuit, decide to create a motherdaughter pageant as a charity event.
8 p.m. on CW Life Sentence
The series concludes its run with “Then and Now,” as Stella (Lucy Hale, pictured) faces the aftermath of detailing her life with Wes (Elliot Knight) on social media ... which, not surprisingly, opens the couple up to all sorts of scrutiny from acquaintances and strangers alike. A health crisis inspires Peter (Dylan Walsh) to make a major decision. Aiden (Jayson Blair) tries to keep his hopes for the bar alive.
8 p.m. on SHOW Movie: Walking Out
The spectacular scenic backdrop of Big Sky Country — specifically, Montana’s Paradise Valley — is a huge asset in this compelling survival tale of a father and son (Matt Bomer and Josh Wiggins) stranded together in this remote region after an accident. The saga of their ordeal is compelling in its own right, but the film gets extra juice from the palpable and poignant chemistry between its lead duo.
8 p.m. on TRAV The Dead Files
The new episode “Taken: Mahwah, New Jersey” finds medium Amy Allan and former homicide detective Steve DiSchiavi traveling to that location to look into unsettling reports that a close-knit but desperate family of six is being destroyed by the stress of living with extensive paranormal activity. During her psychic investigation, Amy encounters a host of demonic entities that have the power to possess the living.
9 p.m. on PBS Great Performances at the Met
Puccini’s operatic classic Tosca gets a fresh rendering — which was impacted by the removal of conductor James Levine and the withdrawal of some cast members — in a staging directed by David McVicar and starring Sonya Yoncheva, Vittorio Grigolo and Zeljko Lucic. The title character is a singer who becomes the muse of sorts for a painter ... who, in turn, becomes the target of a schemer who wants Tosca for himself. Torture and murder factor in as the carousel of passions becomes ever more intense.
