CHILDREN’S CHESS CLUB: The Santa Fe Children’s Chess Club meets every Wednesday evening at the Main Library, 145 Washington Ave., 5:45 to 7:45 p.m.

SOLAR ASTRONOMY: Children are invited to view solar activity on the surface of the sun with special telescopes (weather permitting) and other activities at the La Farge Branch Library, 1730 Llano St., from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

SUMMER READING CLUB: The Vista Grande Public Library in Eldorado, 14 Avenida Torreon, invites children to participat­e in a summer of reading, music and fun of all kinds. The free club meets from 2 to 3 p.m.

WEE WEDNESDAYS AT THE CHILDREN’S MUSEUM: Toddlers and parents are invited to a morning of discovery and play from 9 to 11 a.m. at the museum, 1050 Old Pecos Trail; toddler-focused exploratio­ns, activities and story time. Admission is $7.50 for adults, $5 for children and free for infants.

MUSIC ON THE HILL: St. John’s College, 1160 Camino de Cruz Blanca, hosts a free, family-friendly outdoor concert by the Jimmy Stadler Band (country-rock); 6 to 8 p.m.

SANTA FE BANDSTAND ON THE PLAZA: Free summer concert: bluegrass band Kitty Jo Creek at 6 p.m.; honky-tonk with Dale Watson at 7:15 p.m. FOLK ART MARKET CELEBRATIO­N: Railyard District, South Guadalupe Street and Paseo de Peralta; artist demonstrat­ions and walking tours from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
