Las Cruces bishop taking Calif. post

LAS CRUCES — The Vatican has announced that Las Cruces Bishop Oscar Cantú is leaving for California.

The Catholic News Agency

reported that Pope Francis appointed Cantú on Wednesday to be co-adjutor bishop of San Jose, Calif. He will assist 73-yearold Bishop Patrick J. McGrath with the administration of the Diocese of San Jose.
