Horse shelter hosts adoption event
The Horse Shelter’s fifth annual Gimme Shelter — Trainers’ Rally for Rescues is set for 10 a.m. July 21 at the Santa Fe Rodeo Grounds.
Local trainers have each taken a rescue horse — none of which had been ridden — into training for 100 days.
The horses will be shown in a friendly, judged competition in which event-goers will be able to choose the People’s Choice Award trainer.
The public is welcome to visit the horses and trainers at 1 p.m., followed by the auction.
People may preview the horses from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, July 20, at the rodeo grounds.
