Society: Lakota is a lovely 7-year-old female who weighs about 55 pounds. She enjoys love and affection and does great in dog play groups. Edward is a super sweet male cat about 7 years old. He will continuous­ly purr for the right person.

These and other animals are available for adoption from the shelter at 100 Caja del Rio Road. The shelter’s adoption hours are from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily. He’s a 6-month-old male kitten who already is litter-box trained. Lively and adorable, Lorenzo is a sweet young male dog who walks great on leash and loves people. He has a lot of pep and is affectiona­te.

Felines & Friends: Toast may be a little shy, but quickly warms up to love and affection. She gets along well with other gentle cats but would be just as happy to be the only cat in the household. Milis and her siblings were found abandoned at 2 weeks old and were bottle-fed by a volunteer. She loves to knead her paws on other cats at her foster home. She’s fierce when she plays, but is a sweet, loving female kitten.

Cats of all ages are available for adoption from Felines & Friends; visit them at Teca Tu in the DeVargas Center, Petco on Cerrillos Road and Santa Fe Cats. Garth is a 3-year-old, dark-brown gelding who is in training with Patrick Otis. Garth is an excellent mover with a great personalit­y. Garth and six other horses will be available for adoption at the shelter’s horse and adoption event July 21 at the Santa Fe Rodeo Grounds.
