A happy ending to the Forrest Fenn treasure tale?

Take that treasure and help the community of Santa Fe, the women and their children on the streets, looking for food and shelter.

When I went to bed the other night, I was troubled by the article I read about art dealer and author Forrest Fenn’s hidden treasure and the loss of lives of some who have searched for it (“Treasure seeker digs himself into hole with state,” Aug. 5). I was concerned by the input from people thinking that was not Fenn’s problem.

Well, he did start the whole adventure with the mystery of the “hidden treasure.” From what I have read, Fenn is a very intelligent man, so I ask, instead of allowing people to be “stupid is as stupid does,” shouldn’t he work to leave a legacy for his family and his community?

Take that treasure and help the community of Santa Fe, the women and their children on the streets, looking for food and shelter. The money he says that the treasure is worth could be put to good use in so many ways, now.

How wonderful it would be to have The Forrest Fenn Shelter, a safe place that helps save lives. It could be a place for these treasure seekers to put their free time and energy into helping build people’s lives so that they also might be able to adventure in life.

It sounds like Fenn has been blessed with much, for which I am sure he is grateful and for which he has worked hard over the years. I am sure he has shared his good fortune with many, but it sounds like Fenn has the opportunity to do even more for those who haven’t been as fortunate as he has.

I do believe we all could sleep a lot better at night, including Fenn, if he were to turn this hunt around for the good, and help many in need of his treasure and kind works. Now that would be a bedtime story with a happy ending for all to read.
