Free, first come, first served CONCIERTO DE MARIACHI MATINEE 2 to 4 p.m., Lensic Performing Arts Center, 211 W. San Francisco St.

Enjoy a concert featuring performances from well-known mariachi groups, dancers and alumni of the Santa Fe Fiesta Council’s Youth Mariachi Workshop. Tickets are $10, ticketssantafe.org.

Saturday, Sept. 8

‘DESFILE DE LOS NIÑOS’ (PET PARADE) 9 to 10:45 a.m., Santa Fe Plaza and surrounding streets Desfile de los Niños, otherwise known as the pet parade, has been an annual tradition since the early 1920s. About 2,000 children in costumes participate in the parade, with thousands of supporters and tourists looking on. The event culminates with an awards ceremony on the Plaza. BANDSTAND ON THE PLAZA 10:45 a.m. to 10 p.m., Santa Fe Plaza GRAN BAILE FEATURING PERFECT STRANGR 7:30 p.m., Santa Fe Community Convention Center, 201 W. Marcy St. Held in honor of the Fiesta royalty. Music by Perfect Strangr. Tickets $20. Tickets will be available for purchase at the information booth (Labor Day and Fiesta weekend) and at the entertainment bandstand at the gazebo on the Plaza.
