The Los Alamos National Laboratory Foundation has awarded several scholarshi­ps, each worth $1,500, to Northern New Mexico students in three categories. New in 2018, the Abiquiú Land Grant-Georgia O’Keeffe Museum Scholarshi­p is specifical­ly designated for descendant­s of an Abiquiú Land Grant family. Marisa-Ann

Lopez of Santa Fe, who is studying culinary arts at Santa Fe Community College, is the inaugural recipient of this award.

Three Native American students received 2018 Northern New Mexico Tribal Business Scholarshi­ps in support of bachelor’s degree studies in business-related fields. The winners are Jerome

Garcia of Cochiti Pueblo, studying accounting and business administra­tion at the University of New Mexico; James Naranjo of Santa Clara Pueblo, studying finance at New Mexico State University; and Ray Roberson of the San Felipe Pueblo, studying business administra­tion with a concentrat­ion in finance at Whittier College in Whittier, Calif.

Regional College/Returning Student Scholarshi­ps were given to nontraditi­onal students pursuing a two-year degree or certificat­ion after a significan­t gap in formal education. Winners are:

The Santa Fe Community Foundation has announced the recipients of the Michael S. Currier Memorial Scholarshi­p for the 2018-19 academic year. The fund provides renewable scholarshi­ps to low-income students who plan to pursue or are currently pursuing an undergradu­ate degree at an accredited four-year institutio­n.

The scholarshi­p is need-based, and funding amounts vary from $1,500 to $15,000.
