Pet connection
Santa Fe Animal Shelter & Humane Society: Calvin, a 2-year-old domestic shorthair male cat, loves to cuddle and enjoys being brushed. Bentley, a year-old handsome boy, is super friendly, does great on leashed walks and is quite affectionate with his favorite people.
These and other animals are available for adoption from the shelter at 100 Caja del Rio Road. The shelter’s adoption hours are from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily. Visit adoptable animals in the community during the shelter’s weekend mobile adoption events: PetSmart National Adoption Weekend, noon to 3 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday at PetSmart Santa Fe, 3561 Zafarano Drive. Visit www.sfhumanesociety.org or call 505-983-4309, ext. 1610.
Española Humane: Mac, a 5-monthold sweet kitten, enjoys sun-filled windows and is great with other cats.
He’s a chatty fellow in a calm and quiet environment who offers plenty of love. Sailor, a 4-month-old kitten, is quiet at first, but once he adjusts to his new place, warms up quickly. He may need a little more care and attention, but the extra efforts will make him a loyal and lovable cat. He can be independent and probably would do best in a home with older children. These and other animals are available for adoption at the shelter, 108 Hamm Parkway.
The shelter is open from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Call 505-753-8662 or visit www.evalleyshelter.org.
Felines & Friends: Molly and her kittens, Miles and Mindy, were abandoned at a mobile home park and are doing well in foster care.
Molly is a sweet and social with a short tortie tux coat. Her two kittens are both playful and loving. Cats of all ages are available for adoption from Felines & Friends; visit them at Teca Tu at DeVargas Center, Petco on Cerrillos Road and Santa Fe Cats. Adoption advisers are available from 1 to 4 p.m. Thursday through Sunday at Petco and noon to 3 p.m. the first Saturday of the month at Teca Tu or by appointment. The Horse Shelter:
