SCIENCE SATURDAYS: The Santa Fe Children’s Museum offers science fun for all ages from 1 to 3 p.m. with guest scientists and STEM instructor­s. A new experiment or activity every week; by admission. MODEL TRAINS: Be the conductor of model trains from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Santa Fe Children’s Museum. Tracks are set up and maintained by the Santa Fe Model Railroad Club; by admission. FREE CODING CAMP: The Santa Fe Public Library is offering a free, two-day, hands-on Coding Camp at the Main Library, which is focused on kids in grades 6-12 but also open to adults. It will involve serious work, says program coordinato­r Mark Galassi: “The goal is to get started on a path that leads to serious programmin­g, rather than using a canned ‘for kids’ programmin­g environmen­t, which will never be used for real work.” The hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, with a break for lunch, and 1 to 4:45 p.m. Sunday. COOKING CLASS FOR KIDS: As part of its commitment to improving community health, Presbyteri­an Santa Fe Medical Center is hosting a free community cooking class in partnershi­p with Cooking with Kids, featuring pediatrici­ans Amy Williams and Bethany Carvajal, at 10 a.m. Dec. 1 in the Teaching Kitchen at the hospital, 4801 Beckner Road. The class is designed to educate and empower children and their families to make healthy food choices through hands-on learning with fresh, affordable foods. Organizers ask that least one adult participat­e with their kids, but the entire family is invited to attend. What’s on the menu? Vegetarian blue corn tamales with red chile sauce.
