MEET CORNELIUS: The Santa Fe Children’s Museum, 1050 Old Pecos Trail, invites families to visit with corn snake Cornelius from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Admission is $7.50 for adults, $5 for children and free for infants. BROADWAY ON ICE: Skaters from ages 3 to 84 present the Santa Fe Skating Club’s annual holiday show at 1 p.m. at the Genoveva Chavez Community Center, 3221 Rodeo Road. SFCC DANCE AND DRAMA SHOWCASE: The Santa Fe Community College dance and drama classes will present an endof-semester showcase of their work at El Museo de Cultural, 555 Camino de la Familia, beginning at 7 p.m. In addition to drama, students will perform belly dance, jazz, flamenco and hip-hop. MAKING HISTORY: The New Mexico History Museum, 113 Lincoln Ave., presents a block-printing workshop from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The public is invited to learn about block printing and print out custom-patterned wrapping paper to take home. New Mexico residents get in free the first Sunday of each month. CHANUKAH ON THE PLAZA: The community is invited to the grand menorah lighting with Mayor Alan Webber at 3 p.m. The event includes a performanc­e by acrobatic troupe Aerial Aura, music by Los Klezmerado­s and refreshmen­ts; no charge.

THE NUTCRACKER AND THE MOUSE KING: Dance Arts Los Alamos presents the show at Duane Smith Auditorium in Los Alamos at 2 p.m. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for students and seniors. Children 3 and under are free. SANTA FE YOUTH SYMPHONY: The group offers several performanc­es at the James A. Little Theater. Meet at the Santa Fe Botanical Garden on Museum Hill, 725 Camino Lejo; $5 suggested donation; free to members and children under 12. ALL-AGES CHESS: The Vista Grande Public Library presents a chess program from 3 to 5 p.m. All players under 12 must have parental permission. CHRISTMAS AT THE PALACE: The Palace of the Governors and the New Mexico History Museum, 105 W. Palace Ave., present an evening of hot cider, cookies, live music, a chance to operate an antique printing press, old-fashioned activities and a visit from Mr. and Mrs. Claus from 5 to 8 p.m. This family event is free, but donations of nonperisha­ble food are welcome. The History Museum and Palace will close at 3 p.m.

Saturday, Dec. 8

SCIENCE SATURDAYS: The Santa Fe Children’s Museum offers science fun for all ages from 1 to 3 p.m. with guest scientists and STEM instructor­s. A new experiment or activity every week; by admission. MODEL TRAINS: Be the conductor of model trains from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Santa Fe Children’s Museum. Tracks are set up and maintained by the Santa Fe Model Railroad Club; by admission. HOLIDAY CONCERT: The New Mexico Museum of Art, 107 W. Palace Ave., presents a free performanc­e by the High Desert Harp Ensemble from 1 to 2 p.m. SFCC HOLIDAY CRAFTS FAIR: This popular free community event, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Santa Fe Community College, features about 75 artists selling jewelry, baked goods, woven handbags, pottery, painting, scarves, tinwork, straw appliqué, woodcarvin­gs, holiday cards and ornaments.

MEET CORNELIUS: The Santa Fe Children’s Museum invites families to visit with corn snake Cornelius from 3 to 4:30 p.m., by admission. LAS POSADAS: A candle-lit procession re-creating Mary and Joseph’s search for a place to give birth to the baby Jesus travels around the Santa Fe Plaza and concludes in the Palace of the Governors Courtyard. The event includes carols, cookies and hot cider in the Palace Courtyard. The New Mexico History Museum and Palace will close at 3 p.m. to prepare for this free event from 5 to 7 p.m. WINTER CONCERT: The Santa Fe Community Orchestra presents works by Ludwig van Beethoven, Leonard Bernstein and Alexander Arutiunian at 2:30 p.m. in the James A. Little Theater. Admission is free; donations are appreciate­d.
