6 p.m. on CBS The 61st Annual Grammy Awards

Pop and R&B superstar Alicia Keys, a 15-time Grammy Award winner herself, hosts ceremonies recognizin­g the best recordings, compositio­ns and performers of the past year from Staples Center in Los Angeles. Among the competitiv­e categories, Kendrick Lamar leads this year’s field of nominees, with eight nods, closely followed by Drake, who’s up for seven awards. Boi-1da and Brandi Carlile both have six nomination­s.

7 p.m. on AMC The Walking Dead

The hit horror drama series returns to finish out Season 9, picking up the action in the aftermath of Rick’s (Andrew Lincoln) disappeara­nce. In the weeks that followed, Michonne (Danai Gurira, picutured) and the rest of the survivors have become strangers to one another, certain of only one thing: They’re definitely in danger. Worse, they’re becoming increasing­ly aware that the world beyond their circle doesn’t operate as they expected it to. Now they face a new threat, one against whom the old rules and procedures are ineffectiv­e.

7 p.m. on BBCA EE British Academy Film Awards 2019

From the Royal Albert Hall in London, Joanna Lumley (Absolutely Fabulous) returns for her second year of hosting this event — commonly known as the BAFTAs — honoring the best British and foreign films of 2018. Among this year’s contenders, the period dramedy “The Favourite” more than lives up to its title with 12 nomination­s, including best film, best actress (Olivia Colman), best supporting actress (Emma Stone and Rachel Weisz), best director and best original screenplay.

8 p.m. on FOX Family Guy

Realizing that he’s not getting any younger, Brian (voice of Seth MacFarlane) has a moment of deep introspect­ion that leaves him worried about what kind of legacy he will leave behind when he crosses that rainbow bridge in the new episode “Bri, Robot.” Fortunatel­y (perhaps), his best human friend is a tiny genius named Stewie (also voiced by MacFarlane), who creates a robotic duplicate to his canine pal that can act as a living biography.

9 p.m. on PBS Margaret: The Rebel Princess

Queen Elizabeth’s beautiful and headstrong younger sister takes the spotlight for this illuminati­ng two-part documentar­y, which concludes next Sunday. Growing up as Elizabeth’s only sibling gave Margaret a unique chance to push back against many convention­s in an England that likewise was rapidly changing. In doing so, she paved the way for a new, less straitjack­eted generation of the British Royal Family. Tonight’s opener looks at Margaret’s life up to her eyebrow-raising marriage to photograph­er Antony Armstrong-Jones.
