ANGELICA JNANI CONNELLY

-

Angelica Jnani Connelly, former resident of Santa Fe, died on January 13, 2019 at her home in Livingston, Montana.

Angie was born on January 16, 1974 in Lynnwood, Washington to Maize Elford and Richard Bullington. Angie grew up in Chimayo and Santa Fe where she was an outstanding athlete, second statewide in New Mexico women’s cross-country her senior year at Santa Fe High in 1992. She was an early competitor in slopestyle snowboarding.

She married Peter Connelly her friend since their teen-age years together in Santa Fe on June 5, 1999 in Las Cruces at his parents’ home. Angie and Pete lived in several locations in the Northwest before returning to Santa Fe and then moving to Southern Colorado. During that time she became the mother of two talented daughters.

She graduated in 2012 from Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado with a degree in Geology and Geographical Information Systems (GIS) and was that year’s Outstanding Female Science Scholar. Angie loved the out of doors and was always ready for a camping trip or hike. This served her well on her Geology field trips into the high mountains of the West. She and her family moved to Livingston, Montana shortly after she completed her degree in order to find work in Geology. Her GIS skills led to work as a rural fire protection analyst in nearby Bozeman. Later, because she wanted to work closer to home, she found work at Printing For Less in Livingston where, because of her excellent work and creative solutions, she became a digital printer and valued employee.

Pete and Angie opened the Shorn Natural Fiber store in Livingston soon after arriving in the city and developed a national presence online. Angie created many of the shop fixtures and decor and even produced knitted items for sale there.

She leaves many friends who miss her dearly in Livingston, in Santa Fe, and in Portland, Oregon.

She is survived by her husband Pete and daughters Olaia and Neve of Livingston, MT, mother Maize, sister Cedar Elford-White and step-father Kenneth T White II of Santa Fe, father Richard and step-mother Linda Stassel of Vancouver, WA, brother-in-law Scott Connelly of Albuquerque, aunts Darlene Keifer of Whidbey Island, WA and Beverly Meermans of Pittsburgh, PA, and cousins around the country.
