Hello! Welcome to the 98th Santa Fe Indian Market. This year’s market will be an exciting experience for all. The pride of my wonderful staff — as well as volunteers, donors and sponsors — in supporting Native art and artists from across the United States and Canada is second to none. I truly hope you’ll enjoy what we’ve worked so hard on over the year. Indian Market is the paramount juried Native American art show in the world, showcasing the excellence of Native American art and artists. We at SWAIA work hard to bring you an event that will not be forgotten. As executive director, I have had many great experiences with artists, volunteers, politicians and the community of Santa Fe. Many of them express how much they look forward to Indian Market. Others share their fondest memories with me. The effort my staff and volunteers put into Indian Market displays the passion each has for Native art and artists. It is a great feeling knowing their efforts are appreciated. The excitement of seeing what new and innovative creations our Native artists will showcase at this year’s Indian Market is coming to a peak. Other artists will showcase traditional art forms, and the new and the traditional together will change the landscape of Native American art. I am sure you are excited too! As we approach our 100th year, there is clearly no lack of imagination or innovation. It is an honor to represent Native art and artists year after year.
