STARGAZER PLANETARIUM: The Children’s Museum presents an exploration of the cosmos through films and other programs in its portable planetarium; from noon to 5 p.m. by admission.
SUPER STOLIE’S HALLOWEEN DAYDREAM: The Main Library, 145 Washington Ave., presents Super Stolie, a Chicago musician, artist and performer who loves to use creativity to inspire the uniqueness in all of us. With her colorful outfits and vibrant personality, children and families will want to be her friend, join the band and be their awesome selves. The show is from 2 to 3 p.m.

Saturday, Oct. 19
SCIENCE SATURDAYS: The Santa Fe Children’s Museum offers science fun for all ages from 1 to 3 p.m. with guest scientists and STEM instructors, by admission.

FALL BOOK SALE: The Southside Branch Library offers discount books for sale from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. ARCHAEOLOGY DAY: In celebration of International Archaeology Day, the Center for New Mexico Archaeology, 7 Old Cochiti Road off Caja del Rio Road, will open its doors to the public from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Learn about New Mexico’s fascinating 12,000-year cultural heritage through hands-on activities and demonstrations at this free event, and tour the storage facility for New Mexico’s archaeological collections and the working research laboratories for the Office of Archaeological Studies. Participants can throw atlatls, shoot bows and arrows, create yucca fiber string, watch pottery firings and learn about coiled basketry.
MCCURDY FIESTA: McCurdy Ministries Community Center, formerly McCurdy School, will celebrate 107 years of service to the Española Valley with a fiesta from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
All events will be free and open to the community. The day will include tours of the McCurdy campus, 515 Calle Arbolera in Española, a free lunch of Frito pie or posole, educational booths from nonprofits in the area, booths highlighting McCurdy’s current programs, health screenings from El Centro del Norte, lawn games and crafts for kids of all ages, a magic show featuring Sean Ridgeway and Mariachi Ventura, a mariachi band from Santa Fe.
