Experience: He has 30-plus visual art awards and built a national award-winning program at Santa Fe Community College as the veterans coordinator; former member of the city Veterans Advisory Board.
Personal: Married 21 years with two children, ages 10 and 12. His wife has filed for divorce.
Arrests or convictions: Convicted of drunken-driving in 1998 and 2007; arrested on suspicion of domestic violence; the charge was dropped.
