Warriors end skid with win over Grizzlies

-

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Alec Burks scored a season-high 29 points, Glenn Robinson III added 20 and the Golden State Warriors snapped a seven-game losing streak with a commanding 114-95 victory over the Memphis Grizzlies on Tuesday night.

Marquese Chriss and Eric Paschall added 17 points apiece for the Warriors. Draymond Green was just short of his 24th career tripledouble with eight points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists.

Rookie Ja Morant scored 20 points for Memphis, while Dillon Brooks finished with 18. Brandon Clarke added 17 and Jae Crowder had 15 points along with 11 rebounds as Memphis lost its second straight.

Even undermanned, the Warriors were able to cause enough problems for Memphis that the game was pretty much over before halftime.

Memphis got the deficit to single digits at one point late in the third quarter, but Golden State never let the Grizzlies threaten in the fourth.

The Warriors built their 61-46 halftime lead behind Memphis’ poor shooting and poor defense. Much like its blowout loss to Denver on Sunday, Memphis’ problems were evident in the second quarter when Golden State outscored the Grizzlies 26-4 to open the frame.

The Warriors shots 51 percent for the half, while holding Memphis to 36 percent.

KINGS 120, SUNS 116

In Sacramento, Calif., Bogdan Bogdanovic set career highs with 31 points and seven 3-pointers, and the Kings beat Phoenix.

Richaun Holmes had 20 points and 15 rebounds, Nemanja Bjelica scored 17 points and Harrison Barnes added 15 for Sacramento. The Kings have won four of five.

Devin Booker had 30 points, eight assists and five rebounds for Phoenix. Kelly Oubre Jr. and Mikal Bridges scored 20 points apiece.

Bogdanovic shot 11 of 14 overall and was 7 of 9 beyond the arc. He made four 3s and had 14 of Sacramento’s 16 points during one stretch in the second quarter, then made three more from the perimeter in the fourth to help the Kings hold on.

Phoenix trailed by 26 early in the third quarter. The Suns were within 90-81 early in the fourth but couldn’t stop Bogdanovic. The 27-year-old Serbian scored 11 points in the final 12 minutes, including his seventh 3-pointer that made it 106-91.

Phoenix made a final push to get within 116-113 with 14 seconds left before Yogi Ferrell and Holmes made two free throws apiece for Sacramento.
