RINGSIDE
Filmed over eight years, this documentary from German director André Hormann delivers a visceral emotional punch as it follows two boxing prodigies — junior Golden Gloves champion Destyne Butler Jr. and Olympic hopeful Kenneth Sims Jr. — as they try to navigate personal and professional challenges in the sports world. Although their personal stories begin in roughly the same time and place, their paths soon diverge, as Butler spends time in prison. It all adds up a compelling redemption story about beating the odds.
7 p.m. on IFC Movie:
The Wolf of Wall Street
Leonardo DiCaprio and director Martin Scorsese earned much praise — and a rebuke from the daughter of one of the real-life subject’s victims — in their fifth screen teaming, a colorfully edgy portrait of Jordan Belfort, a financial wizard who satisfied his many vices to excess while convincing others to put their monetary faith in him. Jonah Hill is excellent as Belfort’s principal partner in scheming. Matthew McConaughey and Margot Robbie also appear.

Mama June: From Not to Hot
Some barely repressed sore feelings come bursting out into the open as Mama and Pumpkin face off in what becomes a dramatic and scary sitdown in the new episode “Family Crisis: Face Off With Mama.” Neither woman is prepared for what the results of Mama’s drug test reveal, however, since major repercussions may well follow. Meanwhile, Alana (previously known as Honey Boo Boo) discovers a secret the family has been hiding from her.

Prideland
June traditionally is recognized as Pride Month, during which numerous LGBTQ-related programming and events take place, but most live 2020 gatherings have been canceled or postponed because of the COVID-19 pandemic. PBS celebrates the month, however, with this new one-hour documentary special hosted by actor Dyllon Burnside, pictured, who plays the dancer Ricky in the hit FX drama series Pose. Produced as a companion piece to a short-form digital series that’s been airing on the PBS Voices YouTube channel, the special explores LGBTQ identity in the American South.
