Biography: I Want My MTV
This new two-hour special charts the rise of a music channel that came to define a generation as a cultural phenomenon. In the early days of cable TV, MTV’s scrappy, irreverent lineup of music videos eventually evolved into a reflection of America’s youth culture. As the channel and its programming matured and became more sophisticated, MTV pushed the envelope with art, sex, gender and race, and when the information revolution ignited, MTV was at the forefront in new technologies. Interviews include Pat Benatar, Sting, Annie Lennox, pictured, and many others.

Harbor From the Holocaust
This new one-hour documentary chronicles the saga of how some 20,000 Jewish refugees fled Nazi-occupied Europe during World War II and took refuge in the Chinese city of Shanghai. The film explores the largely unknown relationship that developed between these refugees — dubbed “Shanghailanders” — and their newly adopted home. It’s a story that is unusually nuanced and complex, much like Shanghai itself.

Transplant
While assisting Bash (Hamza Haq) on treating a patient with a tricky diagnosis, Mags (Laurence Leboeuf) starts to realize that her new colleague’s experience as a combat doctor has conditioned him to take an instinct-based approach in the new episode “Tell Me Who You Are.” Elsewhere, head nurse Claire Malone (Torri Higginson) frets over whether Dr. Bishop (John Hannah) is rushing things by coming back to work so soon after his accident. Ayisha Issa also stars.
