This true crime series, in which murders are chronicled from the viewpoints of townspeopl­e in the communitie­s where the killings occurred, returns for Season 3 with “The Farmer’s Daughter,” set in the small college town of Valley City, N.D. The locals are shocked when two friends discover student Mindy Morgenster­n fatally stabbed and strangled in her apartment. Initially baffled, law enforcemen­t officials cast a wide net for anyone who can provide them with viable clues to the murder.

A woman finds herself swept up into a baffling nightmare after seeing her husband murdered before her eyes, then being kidnapped from her home, along with a mysterious stash of money that was hidden in her floor, in the new episode “Deconflict.” Once Jess (Julian McMahon) discovers an apparent link between this violent incident and one of his past cases, his search for the abductor takes a decidedly personal turn.
