CITY OF SANTA FE CARES ACT SPENDING

The city of Santa Fe received $17.5 million in federal CARES Act funding from the state of New Mexico for distributi­on through the end of 2020. Following is a breakdown of how the money was spent.

$7.5 million: Went toward payroll for public safety employees.

$5.196 million: Given to the Community Direct Assistance program through the joint citycounty CONNECT initiative: ◆ $3.5 million in direct assistance payments for individual­s.

◆ $1.6 million in housing, food, child care and other COVID-19-related expenses, disbursed through CONNECT partners.

$2 million: Used to help cover the cost of purchasing Santa Fe Suites for use as a housing alternativ­e for people in the homeless community.

$1.98 million: Spent on equipment and supplies. $1.02 million: Covered an expansion of the COVID-19 Emergency Paid Sick Leave and Family Medical Leave programs for workers. $107,384: Went toward administra­tive expenses. $19,997: Spent on online training for telework.
