Rebecca Breeds brings past series experience into ‘Clarice’

- BY JAY BOBBIN

Q: Where have I seen the actress who stars in “Clarice” before? – Pamela Adams, via e-mail

A: Rebecca Breeds did a good amount of television work in her native Australia – including in one of the most popular serials there, “Home and Away” (which also featured the actor who’s now her husband, “Blindspot” alum Luke Mitchell) – before she began pursuing jobs in America. She actually was a regular in a couple of CBS shows before “Clarice,” the first being the short-lived comedy “We Are Men” (which also featured Jerry O’Connell, Kal Penn and Tony Shalhoub). Though 11 episodes were filmed, only three of them aired before the series was pulled. Breeds had better luck with recurring roles on dramas with devoted audiences, “Pretty Little Liars” and the “Vampire Diaries” spinoff “The Originals,” and she later appeared on the military dramas “The Brave” and (also for CBS) “The Code.”

Q: Will Hallmark Movies & Mysteries be making any more “Mystery 101” films? – Samantha Post, Sacramento, Calif.

A: In fact, the next one is right around the corner. “Mystery 101: Killer Timing” is slated for March 21, putting the characters played by Jill Wagner and Kristoffer Polaha on the trail of a serial killer. Another staple of Hallmark movies is the tale’s principal guest star ... Erin Cahill, playing Polaha’s ex-wife, an FBI agent. When she shows up, expect plenty of raised-brow looks from Wagner, who’s quite good at those (a talent she mastered during her “Wipeout” days).
