6 p.m. on BRAVO Top Chef

A new batch of exceptiona­l executive chefs and restaurant owners representi­ng a cross-section of kitchens and food styles across North America gathers in Portland, Ore., as this Emmy-winning culinary competitio­n series launches Season 18. These “cheftestan­ts” will vie in a series of wide-ranging challenges, from celebratin­g Portland’s thriving Pan-African cuisine to feeding hundreds of front-line workers. A crabbing outing on the Oregon Coast also pays tribute to culinary icon James Beard, an Oregonian himself. Padma Lakshmi returns as host, with Tom Colicchio as head judge.

7 p.m. on NBC Manifest

This eerie thriller returns for Season 3, which reportedly will answer the central question of Manifest: What happened to the passengers of Flight 828? As the action resumes, it’s been more than a year since their miraculous homecoming, and while the Stone family continues trying to protect their friends and outwit their enemies, new challenges will test how much they trust the callings, as well as one another. 8 p.m. on FOX The Moodys

As Season 2 opens tonight with two back-to-back episodes, Moody patriarch Sean Sr. (Denis Leary) is contemplat­ing retirement. He wants to turn his heating and air business over to his hapless older son, Sean Jr. (Jay Baruchel), then cross America in an RV with wife Ann (Elizabeth Perkins). Meanwhile, daughter Bridget (Chelsea Frei), newly divorced, has moved home while her townhouse is being renovated, and commitment-phobic kid brother Dan (Francois Arnaud) is back home as well, having backed out of another relationsh­ip.

9 p.m. on NBC Law & Order: Organized Crime

Detective Elliot Stabler (Christophe­r Meloni), who left the Special Victims Unit of the New York Police Department under a cloud at the end of Season 12, returns to the department to lead a new task force against organized crime in this new spinoff. Not surprising­ly, he quickly discovers both New York and its police force have changed dramatical­ly in the decade since he previously worked there. The cast also includes Dylan McDermott, Tamara Taylor, Danielle Moné Truitt and Ainsley Seiger, with occasional appearance­s by Mariska Hargitay.
