-

Eloisa (Mary Larrañaga) Couty passed away peacefully on August 27, 2021 surrounded by her loving family. Elosia was born on October 19, 1945, in Rincones Colorados, New Mexico, to Macario Larranaga and Anita Tapia Larranaga. Eloisa was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, and in-laws; Libby (Tony) Martinez, Delfinio (Lucy) Tapia, Ramon (Loyola) Tapia, Juanita (Maclovio) Montoya, Mary Larranaga, Esther Larranaga, Gilbert Larranaga, Louie Sandoval, and Duane Holtzclaw, as well as numerous great-uncles, aunts, and cousins from the Larranaga and Tapia families.

She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Fred Couty; children, Nicholas (Beth) Couty; grandchild, Sedona Couty; brothers and sisters, Mary Lou Sandoval, Joe (Mary) Larranaga, Tommy Larranaga, Tony (Judy) Larranaga, brother-in-law, Tony Martinez, all of Santa Fe, and Charlotte Holtzclaw of Washington.

Eloisa was a loving and devoted wife who was lucky enough to spend 38 beautiful years with the love of her life, Fred, who was her soulmate and her everything. Their love was a once in a lifetime kind of love and a great example to their son, daughter-in-law, granddaughter, and Godchildren. They built their life together on a foundation of faith, love, respect, commitment, laughter, and joy. The magical love they shared will be the greatest gift and legacy they leave to their family. Thank you to Fred for being her joy and love every day.

Eloisa was a loving and dedicated mother first and foremost. She treasured her son, daughter-in-law, granddaughter, and Godchildren and embraced every moment with them. She had a special gift for making all her family feel loved, valued, and special. Eloisa was not only an amazing mom, wife, Godmother, and mother-in-law but also an amazing sister and aunt to all of her family. She was a loving, kind, strong, and independent woman. She shared the love for her family by her cooking and baking for everyone.

Despite her years of pain and discomfort, she kept her faith and she prayed for others. She truly put others before herself, she never gave up on others, and she kept fighting until the end. We all strive to live a life like hers, to be living examples of faith, hope, love, and strength to others.

Thank you to the Pacifica Senior Living and Ambercare Hospice, and everyone for your prayers, blessings, and support.
