GILBERT F GURULE

It is with great heartache and sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved Gilbert F Gurule on Friday November 05, 2021. Gilbert was born on September 19, 1975, to parents Gilbert and Ramona Gurule in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

Gilbert was very active with the motorcycle community including numerous charities such as Wings for Hope. He currently held the director’s chair and treasure for the Santa Fe’s HOG chapter, Sangre de Cristo, and the secretary position for the nonprofit, Wings for Hope. Gilbert loved riding his motorcycle through out the year and enjoyed helping his community in any way he could. He started working for the state of New Mexico in 2005 and currently was a senior accountant for the Department of Transportation. He also was a member of the AGA (Association of Government Accountants) New Mexico Chapter since 2010 which he held many positions, Webmaster, Immediate Past President, President Elect, and Education Chair. Before receiving his degree in Accounting and Business Administration at Highland University he proudly served in the US Navy for 4 years active and 8 years reserve. Gilbert was preceded in death by his Nephew Larry (LJ) GuruleAlarcon, Aunt Mary J Gurule, Uncle Michael Gonzales, Grandparents Juanita R and Enrique A Gurule, Great Grandparents Juan and Petra Ortega.

Gilbert is survived by his daughters Shantal Simona and Catrina Alexandra Gurule; wife Natalie Gurule; parents Gilbert and Ramona Gurule; sister Elizabeth (Liz) Gurule; Grandparents Marcy and Mike Gonzales (maternal). He also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless friends. Gilbert also leaves behind his two fur babies who he loved dearly, Destiny and Wicca.

A recital of the rosery will be at 6:00pm on Monday November 29, 2021, at the Kiva Chapel, located at 417 Rodeo Rd in Santa Fe, NM. A Mass will be held on Tuesday November 30, 2021, at 10:30 am at San Isidro Catholic Community Center located at 3552 Agua Fria St in Santa Fe, NM. Reception to follow at the FOE on 833 Early St. Sant Fe NM. There will be a procession following “Gil’s last ride” from Rivera Funeral Home on 417 Rodeo Rd, Santa Fe, NM to San Isidro Community Center. We ask all motorcyclists who would like to join to be at Rivera Funeral Home at 9:30am on November 30, 2021.
