MERCEDES PEREA
Mercedes Perea, 96, passed away on November 20, 2021. She was born on September 24, 1925 in Rowe NM to Guadalupe and Apolonio Archuleta. She married Joe Perea.
She is preceded in death by her husband; Joe Perea, father; Apolonio Archuleta, mother; Guadalupe Archuleta, sisters Gertrude Padillia, Delfinia Maestas (Simon), Grace Flores (Mike), brother Melisandro Encinias(Monica), granddaughter Lupe Ashford, son in law Marcelinio Ashford. Inlaws Jose and Rosarito Perea, brother-in-laws Ramon Perea (Rachel), Domingo Perea (Susie), Antonio Perea(Cecilia), Efren Perea, Louie Perea (Marylou) sisters-in-laws; Oflia Louge (Dougles) Della Roybal (Joe) and Francis Rodriguez (Ted).
She is survived by her daughters Lousia Martinez (Federico) Julie Ashford, Son Jerry Perea (Crusita) She had 10 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins that she loved dearly.
Mercedes was a nurse at St. Vincent’s Hospital for 33 years. She also worked part time for Ruby Payne Nursing Home. She loved being a nurse!
Mercedes Perea was a devoted catholic. When she lived in Santa Fe, St. Francis Cathedral was her parish she loved the processions for La Conquistadora.
She moved to Rowe where she went to La Sagrada Familia Church. When Mercedes was home bound she would watch mass at 10:00am or 5:00pm. Special thanks to Alejardra Archuleta for bringing her communion. We want to thank Del Corazon Hospice, Tony, Diana, Mary and Jacob for the wonderful care. A rosary will be recited at La Sagrada Familia Church in Rowe New Mexico on Saturday, December 4, 2021 at 10 a.m. Mass will follow at 11 a.m. Interment to follow mass at Apolonio Archuleta Cemetery in Rowe, New Mexico. A reception will be held at Casa de Herrera in Pecos, following the interment.
