Was it sad saying goodbye to Maureen after wrapping the third and final season of “Lost in Space”?

I’ve loved this job and playing Maureen and being with these people, so it was. It was a bittersweet ending. It’s funny. I’ve been sitting here ... really thinking about the story and the themes this season and all that we went through making it because it was a really difficult season to produce because we were in the midst of – you know, it was pre-vaccine and we weren’t shooting during the midst of the pandemic . ... So it was really laborious at the beginning, just that we were one of the first productions to get back and it took some time to figure out how to do it and to get to a place where you could feel like everyone was safe and you could still concentrate on doing the work. So it was a bit of a grind but even within that, there was so much just joy in the show.

Did you get to have a real wrap party?

No, we didn’t have any of that. It was a hard way to end. We did really well throughout the entire production. Right at the very end, we had a few people who tested positive for COVID ... . So that was tricky. Nobody got really ill. Everybody was fine. But it was a grind . ...

We had actually shot until the 23rd of December. I mean, it was really tricky to even get home. I remember Toby (Stephens, who plays her TV husband, John Robinson), they were shutting down the U.K. and ... he didn’t know if he’d be able to get home in time for Christmas. It was like that. Not an easy way to work. But on the other hand, I think we all felt – I certainly – just so blessed to be able to work, to be able to not just do work that you love but do it with people who you love at a time when most of the world was having an experience of really deep isolation.
