Raid the Fridge
Food writer Dan Ahdoot hosts this new culinary competition series, in which competing chefs must rely mainly on their intuition and luck. To get ingredients for a series of challenges, the chefs may use only the ingredients they find in the “mystery refrigerator” they select, but — here’s the rub — they have only the exterior photos, magnets, recipes and art on the fridge doors to go by. Great Escapes
With Morgan Freeman
The new episode “Assassin’s Flight” examines how petty thief and lifetime criminal James Earl Ray managed to escape prison multiple times. In fact, it was during one of those “unexcused absences” from incarceration that Ray fatally shot civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr. For that crime, Ray was sentenced to the notorious Brushy Mountain State Prison in Tennessee, widely believed to be virtually escape-proof. That didn’t discourage Ray and some fellow inmates from scaling the prison walls with a makeshift ladder. Morgan Freeman is the host.
