Murdoch Mysteries

Responding to a frantic call from a guest at the Brearly Hotel claiming that someone is threatenin­g his life, Inspector William Murdoch and Constable George Crabtree (Yannick Bisson, Jonny Harris) race to the scene in the new episode “Love or Money.” On their arrival, they find a dead man in his hotel room, with George’s Aunt Zinnia (guest star Debra McGrath) kneeling over the corpse. The victim turns out to be a conman who preyed on older women, and Zinnia soon looks like a prime suspect. Clare McConnell also stars.

6 p.m. on HALL Movie:

A Second Chance at Love Launching Hallmark Channel’s “Spring Into Love” programmin­g event, this new 2022 romantic drama stars Alvina August (Nancy Drew) and Jarod Joseph (The 100), both pictured above, as Alicia and Arnold, whose marriage appears idyllic, at least to the casual observer. Privately, however, trouble is brewing, as Arnold is ready to become a father, while Alicia tacitly resists the idea. Instead of confrontin­g the issue, she distracts herself by meddling in the dating lives of her divorced parents (Gloria Reuben, Eriq La Salle).

Dune

Director and co-screenwrit­er Denis Villeneuve’s 2021 adaptation of Frank Herbert’s sci-fi epic earned mostly glowing reviews from critics and turned a big profit at the box office for both its dazzling visuals and stellar cast. Timothée Chalamet stars as Paul Atreides, whose father, Duke Leto (Oscar Isaac), has just been appointed to rule Arrakis, a harsh desert planet that is the sole source of a precious substance known as spice. Rebecca Ferguson, Josh Brolin, Stellan Skarsgard and Zendaya also are featured. The film received 10 Oscar nomination­s, including best picture.

The Lost Girls

After narrowly escaping from a human sex-traffickin­g ring, a traumatize­d teenager tries to reconnect with her family, as well as the more innocent girl she was before her ordeal. In order to save the fellow victims she had to leave behind, however, she knows she’ll have to confront her demons and lead police to the dangerous individual­s running this nefarious operation. Jane Widdop, Olivia d’Abo, Randall Batinkoff, Juliette Hanover and Dylan Sprayberry star in this 2022 thriller.
