ANTONIA NUANEZ PINEDA

Our dear mother, Antonia Nuanez Pineda passed away at home surrounded with the love of her family, on February 22, 2023, at the age of 87. She was the daughter of Luisa and Bernardo Nuanez born in Horse Springs, Catron County, New Mexico.

She was preceded in death by her husband Frank Pineda and her parents Luisa and Bernardo, siblings Max and Sam Romero, John, Paul, Eutimo, Carmen, Gilbert and sister-in-law Irene Nuanez and nephew David Nuanez.

Antonia was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, greatgrandmother, sister, aunt and daughter. She was a strong and independent woman, who put 100 percent into everything she did. She loved to sew, pick pinon, fish and watch her pumpkins grow. She made the best homemade tortillas and delicious red and green chile.

Antonia will be lovingly remembered by her daughters Bernadette Garcia-Roger (Genne), Sophie Bettendorf (Robert), Patricia Garcia and Margaret Garcia de Duran (Bronson).

She will also be lovingly remembered by her seven grandchildren, Vynnette Peevy (Rick), Danielle Eastman (Travis), Leonardo Rodriguez (Paula), Justin Bettendorf (Ashley), Tatianna, Bronson and Sevilla Duran and her seven great-grandchildren, Ava, Tyler, Aiden, Robert, Samantha, Xavier and Aubrey.

She will be especially missed by her nephew John Nuanez and his wife Mary and her best friend Betty Saiz and husband Victor. Antonia leaves behind her four legged companion Rocco.

We give special thanks and appreciation to the nurses of Ambercare Hospice and caregivers Yvette Garcia and Carla Romero who loved and cared for her.
