-

As a renowned chef, entrepreneur, “culinary anthropologist” and Food Network star, Jet Tila has made quite the name for himself. His innovation, creativity and delicious, Asian-inspired dishes have inspired many to try something new, and Tila’s mission to spice things up in kitchens across America has only just begun, as he teaches chefs, cooking enthusiasts and kitchen newbies alike in his new show, “Ready Jet Cook,” airing Sundays on Food Network.

According to a biography of the chef, highlighted on the Food Network website: “Jet has roots deeply embedded in the industry and ones that significantly establish him firmly in the art form he is most passionate about: storytelling through food. Along with a host of accolades and achievements, Jet’s television career is vast and includes being the new floor reporter on ‘Iron Chef America,’ ‘Parts Unknown with Anthony Bourdain,’ ‘Chopped,’ ‘Cutthroat Kitchen,’ ‘Beat Bobby Flay,’ ‘Guy’s Grocery Games,’ and ‘The Today Show.’”

They continue: “Born from the first Thai food family of Los Angeles, California, a family which established the first Thai markets and restaurants in the U.S. — Jet brings innovation and artistry into the traditional Thai food fold to create a signature style that is at heart, his own.” Now, Jet is sharing his expertise with us, the viewers at home. For the first time, the chef will be giving detailed tutorials on how to cook some of his best, most delicious dishes, each aimed to highlight Jet’s favorite flavors from all across Asia. Throughout the series, Jet turns up the heat (in more ways than one), dishing out Panang Chicken Curry, Sichuan Mapo Tofu, Hong Kong-style Chicken Chow Mein, Korean Short Rib Tacos, his own signature Pad Thai recipe and so much more, taking aspiring cooks (or hungry onlookers!) step-by-step through the process of making mouth-watering, Asian-inspired meals.

With two cookbooks to his name – the award-winning “101 Asian Dishes You Need to Cook Before You Die: Discover a New World of Flavors in Authentic Recipes” and, written with his wife, Allison: “101 Epic Dishes: Recipes That Teach You How to Make the Classics Even More Delicious” – Tila has endless recipes to share, and does so with enthusiasm, experience, and an easy-going, approachable attitude.

From his groundbreaking restaurant, Wazuzu, and straight to your television screen, Jet Tila brings yummy to you with “Ready Jet Cook,” airing Sundays on Food Network.
