MAGA’s blind faith in Trump blocks out light

Monad is the elaborate philosophical notion created by Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz. Regarding people, he theorized that we exist inside a mental vessel and there are no windows that allow the light of other opposing monads to get it.

I consider MAGA, both the individual and the Trump cult, to be monads. In both cases MAGA responds to Donald Trump obediently and robotically, so don’t confuse them with the facts of his guilt, vulgarity, or thuggery. MAGA monad sees Trump, warts and all, but is unable and unwilling to see his to culpability.

Consider this: “And on 14 June 1946, God looked down on his planned paradise and said: ‘I need a caretaker.’ So, God gave us Trump,” the voiceover adds (Truth Social January 2024).

In this political promotion, Trump sets up a straw man. First, he declares “I am the Expected One. I am your messiah” Second, he claims he has suffered a great wounding — the loss of 2020 election. He claims and reclaims there are evil enemies who conspired against him and his MAGA diehards. He is the victim.

The consensus reality of the elections officials is that President Joe Biden won fairly. But MAGA agrees with Trump. MAGA runs to his rescue with sympathy, fear and outrage.

No matter that the master is under indictment with 91 charges. These are lies told by his enemies. Trump exhibits features of victim complex and narcissistic overcompensation. MAGA sides with him. This is called blind faith. In his mind Trump’s claims of innocence trump (what a word) all charges of his alleged misconduct and transgressions.

The reality of Trump’s confused and criminal charges and affairs do not compute with MAGA? “My leader, right or wrong.” This is “dissociation,” a defense mechanism, an unwillingness to accept evidence that contradicts prejudices.

“I couldn’t possibly be looking at the emperor’s naked arse.” A sane bystander would respond: “But can’t you see? The emperor has no clothes.”

“I didn’t do anything wrong; I never met that woman; I made a perfect phone call; Trump Company did not defraud; I have a right to top secret documents.” Tell that to the judge, your lordship.
