In 2023 the Santa Fe Chamber of Commerce continued its unwavering commitment to economic prosperity and community advocacy. Building upon a legacy that dates to the Santa Fe Board of Trade in 1882, the chamber has consistently played a pivotal role in transforming Santa Fe into a thriving community. Guided by its board of directors and president/ CEO, the chamber is committed to enhancing job creation, cultivating income-appropriate housing, promoting workforce development, and advocating for businesses of all sizes and diverse backgrounds. Serving as a catalyst, it strategically brings together stakeholders to foster collaboration, facilitate meaningful connections, and champion initiatives benefiting the community. LOBBYING AS THE VOICE OF BUSINESS
Launched Feria Southside, a dedicated program supporting Spanish-speaking business owners on the southside of Santa Fe, reducing barriers to growth.
Established a dedicated task force to address child care challenges, recognizing the importance to local families and businesses.
Championed affordable housing solutions through founding and building early membership in the Santa Fe Housing Action Coalition.
Advocated for expansion of the Santa Fe Airport as a founding partner of Fly Santa Fe in a push to boost regional connectivity and economic growth.
Secured crucial funding for local and state tourism marketing, actively contributing to the area’s tourism sector.
Hosted sessions on local political candidates and legislative issues to foster an informed electorate. Events included the annual Legislative Preview and Legislative Reception, connecting the business community to our statewide legislators.
Facilitated dynamic monthly networking events, creating a platform for collaboration and knowledge exchange among businesses and community leaders.
Initiated efforts to streamline business licensing regulations, reducing unnecessary hurdles and cultivating a more businessfriendly environment.
GROWING THE LOCAL ECONOMY
Collaborated with local merchants to enhance the business climate, celebrating new businesses through engaging ceremonies. These included the Business Achievement Awards, showcasing the accomplishments of local business owners.
Enabled Spanish-speaking business owners to apply for city business licenses in their native language, removing language barriers and nurturing a more accessible and supportive business environment.
Facilitated monthly networking events, promoting collaboration and knowledge exchange.
Promoted Santa Fe Marketplace, an e-commerce platform supporting local businesses.
Organized the annual Business Expo & Career Resource Fair to connect businesses with valuable resources and talented professionals.
