From burned-out to beautiful

This project was a challenge for the owners of this once fire-damaged shell of a house on East Palace Avenue. Fire destroyed this, the Francisca Hinojos House (which was plaqued by the Historic Santa Fe Foundation as “worthy of preservation”) in 2013. The home has recently been transformed into a magnificent masterpiece byWolf Corporation, a wellknown master builder. The building’s style is a Gothic Revival Style, also referred to as Victorian Gothic or neo-Gothic. This architectural movement began in the late 1700s and gained popularity in the early 19th century. Gothic revival draws features from the original Gothic style architecture, including finials, decorative patterns, and lancet windows. The wraparound porch is set off by a beautiful intricate pattern of balusters that form the white-painted railing. The historic architecture has been restored to more than its former glory, certainly something to lay your eyes on.

The interior of the home is no less magnificent to see. The owners’ vision is one of a bright and beautiful place to showcase and enjoy objets d’art as well as family art collections of many varieties from around the globe. The entrance hall is seven feet wide and spans the distance fromthe front of the house to the back and boasts very high ceilings that lead your eye to a walnut staircase at the end that is quite a focal point with a huge steel beam support smack in the center!
