For that reason, travel affords us an exceptional opportunity to explore not only unfamiliar people and places outside ourselves, but also our inner selves — a territory we too often leave unexamined in our day-to-day routines.
To take advantage of this valuable opportunity for personal growth, in collaboration with Dr. Andrew Weil and The Onboard Spa by Steiner, we have created a fleet-wide mindful living curriculum offering guests holistic spa and wellness experiences integrating physical, social, environmental and spiritual well-being.
Spa & Wellness with Dr. Andrew Weil is the first-ever program of its kind at sea. To facilitate the program, each of our intimate, all-suite ships is adding a new member to the staff. The Mindful Living Coach is a certified yoga and meditation practitioner dedicated to inspiring and educating guests through a series of orientations and complimentary classes throughout the voyage. Guests who choose to participate can have their cruise experiences further enhanced by a holistic mind and body perspective.
Dr. Weil is a visionary pioneer in integrative medicine. With his guidance, this new curriculum delivers an even greater degree of mind and body balance, ensuring that guests can break away, relax and rejuvenate while they travel, and offering them an experience they simply cannot find anywhere else in the industry.
The program is currently available on board Seabourn Encore, and will be expanded throughout the entire Seabourn fleet, including on Seabourn Ovation in spring of 2018. When the program is introduced on each ship, Dr. Weil will sail, delivering a 60-minute lecture and hosting smaller informal group discussions with guests.
MINDFUL MEDITATION, YOGA AND SOUND BATH CLASSES
Central to the Spa & Wellness with Dr. Andrew Weil program is the consistent practice of meditation and yoga, introduced through a series of sessions. In Mindful Meditation sessions, the Mindful Living Coach will introduce positive affirmations and mantras for guests to reflect on throughout the day. Daily restorative yoga classes will continue to focus on the mantra and positive affirmations. Various yoga classes will offer guests the opportunity to tailor their curriculum to focus on particular physical issues, such as yoga for healing back and joint pain, headaches and body alignment, as well as yoga aimed at enhancing creativity, mental focus and happiness. Classes change daily with a new daily theme focused on mind, body and spirit over seven days.
MINDFUL LIVING SEMINARS

An enriching series of complimentary Mindful Living Seminars authored by Dr. Andrew Weil are designed to educate guests on world philosophies and practices aligned with the program’s mission. Each presentation aims to empower guests with ideas and practices for enhancing well-being and increasing awareness of the connections between mind, body, environment and wellness. Seminars are based upon Dr. Weil’s lifelong research, and explore the fields of the healing arts.

OPTIONAL MINDFUL LIVING PROGRAM ENHANCEMENTS
The specialized spa staff on board offers optional additions to the curriculum at additional fees, including personal wellness and health assessments, multi-day use of the spa’s Thermal Suite, therapeutic massage or acupuncture treatments (by a technician certified in Traditional Chinese Medicine), Amethyst Crystal Sound Bath Healing treatments and more. In addition, special Mindful Living shore excursions have been designed which feature content focused on physical well-being and spiritual, historical or cultural significance. The launch of the Spa & Wellness with Dr. Andrew Weil curriculum deepens Seabourn’s already wellness-focused spa program offering a wide spectrum of body massages, facials, fitness and beauty treatments. A varied menu of services blends traditional therapeutic practices from around the world with the most up-to-date equipment and techniques adapted from the latest research. The facilities on board Seabourn’s ships are large and diverse, suitable for guests wishing to maintain a personal fitness regime or discover a new one. A well-equipped gym and Motion Studio, and a full-service salon for men and women, complement the spas. The fitness centers are staffed by professional trainers.
