Medal of Honor recipient to give talk
Marine Sgt. Dakota Meyer will speak to Montachusett veterans.
The Montachusett Veterans
Outreach Center will host its Second Annual Jesse H. Stallings, Jr. Memorial Speakers Series from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 22, and feature Sgt. Dakota Meyer, U.S. Marine
Corps veteran, Medal of Honor recipient and New York Times best-selling author of “Into the Fire: A Firsthand Account of the
Most Extraordinary Battle in the Afghan War.”
Meyer will discuss “Accountability & Achievement,” where he will talk about taking advantages of the opportunities life presents, holding one another accountable to achieve our potential, striving constantly for the best possible outcome, and creating a support network. In this moving and motivational talk, his stories are full of detail and imagery.
From growing up in a small town in Kentucky to joining the Marines, Meyer elaborates on courage, leadership, and what happened that day in Ganjigal Valley, for which he was awarded the Medal of Honor. He believes that anyone can achieve greatness, and he inspires his audience to do their best.
