FITCHBURG » The North Central Massachusetts Chamber of Commerce is partnering with the MassHire North Central Workforce Board, the Montachusett Regional Planning Commission, NewVue Communities and many of the cities and towns in the region to conduct an online survey of businesses and organizations on the continuing impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

This new survey is a follow-up to an initial survey conducted by the Chamber in March during the early days of the pandemic.

This new survey is intended to provide some fresh data and to dive much deeper into the continuing impact of the pandemic on local businesses.

“This survey will provide critical information on the continuing impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on businesses located in North Central Massachusetts,” said Roy M. Nascimento, president and CEO of the North Central Massachusetts Chamber of Commerce. “The data will be useful to not only assess the impact, but also help refine local recovery efforts.”

The survey addresses businesses’ operational

and workforce impacts. Businesses are also asked to share information about resources they have leveraged or still need to aid in recovery efforts. Responses will be kept confidential; however, results will be shared in the aggregate.

“As the North Central region looks to emerge from COVID-19, information obtained from the survey will help to shape our collective economic and workforce development efforts to drive business, support local econo

mies and promote prosperity for the citizens living in our communities,” said Jeff Roberge, executive director of the MassHire North Central Workforce Board.

“Our partnership with the business community is crucial as we work to guide the greater North Central Massachusetts region towards a full economic recovery. This survey will provide us with information that is critical to mapping that path and ensuring we develop equitable, lasting solutions,” said Glenn Eaton, executive director of The Montachusett Regional Planning Commission. “I applaud Roy Nascimento and the Chamber for taking a proactive approach to this crisis and working in close coordination with public sector and nonprofit partners such as the Montachusett Regional Planning Commission.”

“NewVue Communities is pleased to serve as a partner in facilitating this important survey,” said Marc Dohan, executive director of NewVue Communities. “Knowing that businesses have struggled, this survey will help us get a more accurate and detailed understanding of the COVID-19 impact in North Central Massachusetts, so that we can help businesses get back on their feet.”

The North Central Massachusetts COVID-19 Business Impact Survey is available online and can be found at northcentralmass. com/coronavirusimpact-survey-2/.

Businesses and organizations located in the twenty-seven communities of North Central Massachusetts are encouraged to complete the survey.
