LUNENBURG: Ralph J Bertozzi, 87, of Lunenburg, formerly of West Groton and Leominster, died Thursday, December 17, 2020 in Millbury, MA after a brief illness.

Ralph was born in West Groton, MA, on December 14, 1933. He was the youngest of ten children born to Joseph and Amelia (Rodolo) Bertozzi. He graduated from Groton High School, class of 1951.

For over 60 years, Ralph worked as a union carpenter and later was self-employed, building many homes in the local area. He was also a Korean War Veteran.

Ralph was a true outdoorsma­n, who enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and travelling. He was a member of the Townsend VFW.

Ralph was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Amelia, his sisters Julia McNeil, West Groton, Anna Bussom, FL, Victoria Gardner, Ayer, Rose Innerasky, Bolton, Alma Smith, Shirley and his brothers Peter and Carl, both of West Groton.

He is survived by two sisters, Mary Gardner, of New Port Richey, FL and Pauline Grady, Easton, MA, his children, Rhoda (Frank) Sheridan of Sheridan, OR, Joseph, of Pepperell, MA, Ralph, of Bourne, MA, Jeffrey of Milwaukie, OR, Peter, of Townsend, MA, Paul (Geraldine) of Lunenburg, MA, and Edward of Bourne, MA. He also leaves behind his long time companion, Marie Carbone, nine grandchild­ren and five great-grandchild­ren.

Calling hours will be held at the Anderson Funeral Home, 25 Fitchburg Rd, (Rte 2A) Ayer, on Monday, December 21, from 4-6 pm. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 AM, Tuesday, December 22, at St. James Church, St. James Avenue, West Groton. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Ayer.
