Ronald W. Plummer

LEOMINSTER - Ronald W. Plummer, 83, of Leominster, died December 22, 2020, in HealthAlliance Leominster Hospital. He was born June 16, 1937, in Browning, Montana, son of the late Walker Blevins Jr. and Thedra Tomal.

Ron was a proud Blackfeet Native American and grew up on an Indian reservation in Montana. He was a proud former Marine who enlisted in the United States Marine Corp when he was 19. He attained the Rank of Corporal and was awarded the Good Conduct Medal. He was an expert machine gunner and attended the Rifle Marksmanship Instructors School and the NCO Leadership School. He was an excellent shot and also became a sniper. He was retired from the Aubuchon Hardware Company. Ron had an interesting life and would often tell stories about his days growing up on the Black Feet Reservation in Montana and his service in the Marines. You might have heard his stories more than once, but they showed his way of dealing with the challenges of his early life with good humor and extraordinary detail. He shot darts for Montachusett Dart Association. He enjoyed Bingo, was an avid card player and enjoyed traveling with his wife and friends.

He was a gentle and kind man who loved his wife Mary, who predeceased him on May 5, 2020, and his niece Debbie. They would often take her on day trips usually ending up with special presents.

He is survived by his niece Deborah Jones and husband Kenneth, close friends Arland and MaryAnn Richardson of Lunenburg, his grand niece Sara Bator and husband John and their daughter Hanna, niece Cheryl Hebert and husband Michael and their children Jessica Roberts and husband Jordan and Craig Hebert and wife Megan. He is also survived by nephew Joseph “Jay” Morcaldi and wife Maryanne, and their children Jared and Travis, along with nieces Renee Gates and husband Lee and Karen Green.

He was predeceased by a brother William Plummer in 2010.

CALLING HOURS - - Calling hours will be held Monday, January 4th, 2020 from 4:00 - 6:00 pm in Wright-Roy Funeral Home, Inc., 109 West Street, Leominster, MA. Masks must be worn and social distancing observed in the funeral home. Do to current health restrictions burial will be private in Massachusetts
