WESTMINSTE­R - Peter Williams, 73, passed away peacefully on December 26, 2020 at the Wachusett Manor in Gardner.

He was born in Fitchburg February 20, 1947 a son of the late John and Lillian (Goguen) Williams and was a lifelong resident of Westminste­r.

Peter leaves his two sisters, Ann Williams and her partner, James Hanks of Fitchburg and Jane Loiselle and husband John of Dennis, MA; a sister-in-law, Kathy Williams of Westminste­r; two nephews Thomas Williams and wife Sue of Westminste­r and John and wife Muse of California; a stepdaught­er, Melissa Wintturi of Westminste­r and a step-son

Erik Wintturi of Lancaster. He also leaves several brothers-inlaw, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews from his extended family and many special friends including his cat Daisy.

Peter was predecease­d by his brother John, his first wife Theresa (Brown) Williams and second wife Gail (Walker Wintturi) Williams.

He graduated from Oakmont in 1966 where he was an outstandin­g athlete and excelled in gymnastics, football and track and field. He also was a member of Turner Hall in Fitchburg in his teenage years and won several medals in gymnastics.

Pete was in the Army’s 1st Cavalry Division from 1966 to 1969 and served two tours in Vietnam. He was a member of the Westminste­r VFW.

He was a self-employed general contractor for many years. He was an avid fisherman, hunter and trap shooter. He belonged to the North Leominster Rod and Gun Club, Westminste­r Rod and Gun Club, Westminste­r Sportsman’s Club, Norco Sportsman’s Club and Rice Meadow Fly Fishing Club.

Pete loved playing the guitar, banjo and mandolin and attended several Bluegrass festivals. Pete was a very kind person and always welcomed people in his home. He will be greatly missed by his friends and family.

Due to COVID-19 restrictio­ns there will be no funeral or burial service at this time.
