Ted Cruz asking that we tone down the anger

-

Why is it that you fail to understand anger among the American people when you are in the process of aiding and abetting an attempted coup?

We have, as is our constitutional right to do, elected our choice for president. We have chosen Joe Biden. Period.

You now find yourself tied to a Republican party controlled by Donald Trump. How does it feel to be under his control and not just loyal to your party? We are able to see the distinction. It’s unfortunate that you cannot.

Trump is not capable of admitting he lost, so it has to be someone else’s fault. If you recall, he started fostering the voter fraud lie before the 2016 election. He must be constantly preparing himself, and his believers, to lose, but must also be able to cast blame away from himself. This time the excuse is someone must have cheated. Apparently more than 7 million times. No doubt about it, 74 million is a lot of votes. 81 million is more.

You yourself described Trump as a liar prior to the 2016 election. You have been recorded giving Trump quite the scathing character description. We have seen it.

Now, you are in Trump’s camp to the extent that you are willing to overturn our election in his favor.

What has changed? Are you now OK with an incompetent president who lies and cannot accept defeat? A very dangerous combination indeed. Or do you lack enough strength of character to defend the Constitution, which you have been elected to do, against someone who is lying to stay in office after we the people have rightfully voted him out?

You may lose Trump voters, or at least some of them, and we have little doubt that this is a prime motivating factor in what you are doing, but you would at least be able to look yourself in the mirror and see someone

Have your say: Letters and comments up to 250 words will be considered for publication. Trump did not do a good job. The American people have removed him from office. It isn’t trickery, theft or fraud. But it is the truth, to which the states, and Trump’s own Attorney General, have attested.

Reality awaits. Join us, won’t you?

Jumping the line

Gov. Charlie Baker and Edna Pruce, president of the Mass. Senior Action Council, were right in calling out those who cut in line to get vaccinated before

Congress is quick to act when it’s in their best interest but when it comes to helping — serving the people who elected them, they turn the other way with total disregard. The welfare of those most in need to be vaccinated does not bother them at all. New Hampshire

Gov. Chris Sununu was correct in calling this brazen act (which smells of pompous privilege) as “outrageous … and insulting.”
