- By Marie Szaniszlo

CVS Health is adding 34 locations across the state where eligible people will be able to get the coronavirus vaccine as soon as Sunday, the company said.

People will be able to start booking appointments on Saturday as stores receive shipments of the vaccine.

“We’re continuing to expand as quickly as we can to make it as accessible as possible for everyone,” Matthew Blanchette, a company spokesman. said Thursday. “Eventually, we plan to have the vaccine at every location.”

The 34 new locations bring to 85 the number of CVS pharmacies in Massachusetts where eligible people will be able to receive their shots, he said. The company has about 400 locations across the state.

Vaccines at the 85 CVS pharmacies will be available to people meeting state eligibility criteria, as well as to K-12 teachers and staff and child care workers.

People must register in advance at CVS.com or through the CVS Pharmacy app. People without online access can contact customer service at 800-746-7287. Those without an appointment will not receive the vaccine.

Vaccines will be available at CVS Pharmacies in Bristol, Essex, Hampden,

Middlesex, Norfolk, Suffolk, Plymouth and Worcester counties.

Nationally, the company is now administering vaccines in nearly 1,200 stores across 29 states and Puerto Rico. “We’re increasing the number of active stores and expanding to additional states as fast as supply allows, with the capacity to administer 20-25 million shots per month,” Karen Lynch, president and CEO of CVS Health, said in a statement.
