Red Raiders grind out win

Oquendo scores winning TD in OT

- Staff report

It wasn’t easy, but the Fitchburg High football team mustered up just enough offense to sneak out a road win over Grafton, improving to 2- 0 with a 15-7 win in overtime on Friday.

Fitchburg’s Anthony Oquendo scored in overtime and added the twopoint run to break a 7-all tie and the Red Raider defense fended off the hosts on their offensive possession to seal the victory.

Montgomery Graham found Bryan Rivera for a 15-yard scoring strike in the fourth quarter to put the first points on the day on the board. Alex McCloskey’s point after made it 7- 0 Red Raiders.

But Grafton scored as time expired on a Tyler Dimond touchdown, with Nathan Remillard kicking the point after to force OT.
