Don’t quit on yourself or your dreams

- Jackie Bryson Dream Retriever

If at first you don’t succeed try again. I can’t stress enough how important it is to not quit on yourself. You are your best chance at understanding yourself, providing you don’t quit.

DEAR DREAM RETRIEVER: Thank you for the time you have spent answering my questions. It has been enlightening to say the least. I believe I understand what you are trying to show me now by keeping a journal and putting the dreams together. I am however stumped this week and would like some input if you could help.

The fragments of the dream I remember are written down in my journal as such:

■ Monday: Horse and buggy, old man.

■ Tuesday: Mirror in the bathroom, shower, makeup..

■ Wednesday: Don’t remember.

■ Thursday: Trying on dresses (fancy ones) and my mom saying “looks good on you.”

■ Friday: Stormy weather. Walking in it.

■ Saturday: Can’t remember anything.

■ Sunday: Same couldn’t remember anything but rain.

Is there a pattern I am missing? It seems to be all over the place and I can’t make the connection this time. When I woke on Sunday I actually expected it to be pouring out. I thought the rain in my dream was real and expected to wake up to it. — Caroline

DEAR CAROLINE: It is always a pleasure to hear from you. I have to say you have come so far from where you were several years ago. This has been an amazing journey for you and I have been honored to be part of it. You have made such advancements toward understanding you and taking back control of your life.

This week is all good and it makes sense when you see the whole. When you think of a horse and carriage you think outdated transportation. The old man, is a word from the wise. Thus translate to your means of transportation is outdated and you need to recognize that. Your motivation used to be fear-based and no longer is. This is a good thing.

The bathroom mirror, shower and make up are all showing you the changes you have made and the new you that are being reflected back.

Your mom saying this looks good on you is not about the fancy dress but the new look you have, showing confidence.

The storm is what you have been going through; walking in the rain says you are still going through the healing and cleansing process.
