Being reminded of what’s important
There are times in life when we just need to be reminded of what is really important to us. Our dreams know.
DEAR DREAM RETRIEVER » :I dreamed my husband and I had twins (a boy and a girl). And in it, I teased my husband that our son would be like him (since my husband is hairy). I also kept forgetting the names and asking my husband.
My brother appeared in the dream and he was taller than usual and told me he was going to play in a famous band. My mom (deceased) said something she would never have said when I asked her if the twins were real. She said it’s good that they are not real because then she would be raising a widow with two babies.
Then I saw my husband holding a baby and I joined him in the baby’s room. He then started talking about how he had gotten a new job as a “zip” something. Then I woke up and started to cry because I wanted a life with him and the twins in it. I said this over and over as I cried and then realized my husband was beside me, and no possibility of twins.
Other things in the dream were a dog and our cats. We don’t have a dog yet, In the dream, it was a small dog. In reality, we want a bigger dog.
In my life, I was recently promoted. We wished we could have had kids together, but we do have two kittens and talk about finding the perfect dog. — Eileen

Don’t forget how you got there or who helped you which is represented by “forgetting names.” For your brother, who appeared taller and was going to play for a famous band means your promotion is huge and well deserved.
Your mom which represents love and comfort reminds you that without love and support this promotion would not have been possible. Seeing your husband with baby and loving your life is you embracing your new situation. Your husband represents security and repeating you have a husband and twins is you reassuring you that you have what you wanted and have been working toward.
But if you are being honest, you are still insecure about whether this will be enough to sustain your loyalty to each other, which is represented by the small dog rather than the large one you want.
