FITCHBURG » The Department of Public Works advises residents of the following work that will be done, weather permitting, during the week of June 13.

Road constructi­on

Monday — Friday, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Expect road closures, delays and detours.

• P. J. Albert Inc. will continue work on the Main Street and Boulder Drive 2-Way conversion. They will install new curbing and sidewalk along Main Street and Boulder Drive. Traffic signal relocation will continue along Main Street, Boulder Drive and Putman Street. P. J. Albert will continue with road reconfigur­ation. Businesses along Main Street and Boulder Drive are open during constructi­on. Parking is available at the Mill Street and Putnam Street parking garages.

• Main Street is now single-lane travel at the approach to the Common/lower Area.

• Water main reconstruc­tion work will continue on Cushing Street. Cushing Street will be closed.

• Unitil will conduct natural gas pipeline replacemen­t projects in the areas of Mechanic Street, Whittemore Street, Buttrick Avenue, Stockwell Avenue and Arcadia Avenue. The contractor­s Neuco, S. Fors, Feeney Brothers and O.G. Croteau, plan to work from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Residents will be given notice on any planned service interrupti­ons associated with the gas work. The work is scheduled to be completed this summer. All businesses on Mechanic Street will remain open during constructi­on.

Combinatio­n Sanitary Sewer/ Storm Drain Separation Project

Monday — Friday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Expect detours, lane shifts, road closures, and traffic delays.

• Ongoing separation project: South Street between Laurel Street and Nashua Street. Detour/temporary closure on South Street between Laurel Street and Nashua Street will continue as needed.

• Trenchless sewer rehab work on Nashua, Commercial, Henry, Marion, Payson, South, Main, Water, Beech, Chester, Clarendon, Saint Camille, Legros, Delisle and Woodland streets as well as Rainville Avenue.

Minor traffic impacts

Monday — Friday, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

• Pothole repairs in all wards.

• Spot sweeping around the city.

• Repair water gate boxes at various locations throughout the city.

• Sidewalk repairs will be performed on Day Street.

• Work on a new wall at Forest Hill Cemetery may close part of the walkway around the cemetery.

Hydrants

• Hydrant maintenanc­e citywide.

• Hydrant flushing in the Oak Hill Road, Fairmount Street and River Street areas.
