Taking a lightheart­ed look at city of Fitchburg’s history

FITCHBURG » The Fitchburg Historical Society is planning a new community trivianigh­t series titled Fitchburg History Trivia Quiz Show, with a kick- off event to be held as part of Civic Days, at 6 p.m. on Saturday, July 2, at the museum, at 781 Main St., the Phoenix Building.

“Come watch local celebritie­s match wits and their knowledge of Fitchburg’s history, with lots of help from the audience, for a casual and fun way to refresh your Fitchburg history knowhow,” said Susan Navarre, executive director of the Fitchburg Historical Society.

“You’ll give your brain a workout with the questions, and we expect people to learn something new from the answers.”

Navarre said there will be four scheduled trivia-nights.

“Each night will have its own theme, with the first one being a Civic Days Edition,” said Navarre. “The emcee and quiz mistress will be Jessie Olson, the new executive director of the Fitchburg Cultural Alliance.

Tickets for each trivia night are $25 and are available at the Fitchburg Historical Society and via EventBrite. Food and beverages from local restaurant­s is included.
